Town striker James Scowcroft is the Blues' latest worry for Saturday's clash with Arsenal. The Stanton-based player bruised his foot in training and joins Fabian Wilnis as aserious concern for tomorrow. Wilnis jarred his knee during the 2-0 defeat at Millwall on Tuesday and along with Scowcroft missed training yesterday. If Scowcroft misses out it is likely that the Johnson/Stewart partnership will be given another try, while Gary Croft looks likely to deputise for the injured Wilnis.

The Blues boss said that although he had put in an offer last season he was no longer interested in signing the Zairean player. Town are emerging as rivals to Newcaslte United for the signature of Colchester's promising youngster Lomano Tresor Lua Lua. The Zaire-born player has been a long-time target of George Burley who put in an offer for the 19-year-old at the end of last year.

Town are to field a strong reserve side in tonight's first home game with Leicester City. Gary Croft, Martijn Reuser, John McGreal, Wayne Brown and Keith Branagan are amongst the experienced players in the squad for the game which kicks off at 7pm. The game will be an ideal opportunity for players such as McGreal to stake a claim for a first team place. Town's Dutch youngsters Nabil Abidallah and Guillermo Graaven are included before they meet up with their U18 international squad next month. Also in the squad is Benoit Subrin who is a 17-year-old right back on trial from Lyon. Town squad: Branagan, Pullen, Nicholls, Croft, McGreal, J Miller, Brown, Moffat, Reuser, Niven, Abidallah, Midgley, Graaven, Subrin, English and Artun.

Town manager George Burley has said that Town striker may still have a chance of making it in an England shirt despite last season's international shenanigans. Johnson was linked with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as it was thought his possession of a British passport despite being born outside the UK meant he was eligible for any of the home countries. This however was found to be untrue as his mother was born in England.

Town midfielder Jim Magilton is in the Northern Ireland squad which plays Yugoslavia at Windsor Park two days before Town's Premiership kick-off with Spurs. Town manager George Burley said he was unhappy at the timing: "It is not ideal preparation having Jim away for a few days in the week leading up to our first game of the new season." He also praised the Ulsterman saying he was playig some of his best football of his career.

Town have had their in-house IT wizard Colin Hammond design a program to allocate the 2,000 non-season ticket seats. The program, designed in consultation with the ticket office, is designed to allocate seats as fairly as possible amongst Portman Plus holders, with supporters getting to see the better sides in the Division as well as the less popular.
